21st Century Bank Event Center Celebrates Rogers, Minnesota

A Vision for the Community of Rogers

Fifteen years ago, long before 21st Century Bank stepped up to support what is now the 21st Century Bank Event Center, the Rogers Lions Club envisioned a centralized park for the community. Intending to create a building in what is now named Lions Central Park, the group began donating funds to the City of Rogers.

Today, their vision is fully realized with the opening of the 21st Century Bank Event Center. The building represents what is achieved when community members work together to create something that all can enjoy while celebrating how the community has grown. The Lions Central Park Task Force included the Rogers Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, members of the Rogers Lions Club, City Council representatives, city staff members and consulting architects.

21st Century Bank and the City of Rogers

In the late 90s, when we became a community member, Rogers was a small city of just 3,500 people. Over the last 25 years, the city has grown in population by nearly 250% — and has vastly expanded its commercial, industrial and retail footprint. Throughout the city’s growth, 21st Century Bank has been an active participant through financing activities and supporting numerous non-profit organizations and community events.

“With well over 20 years of involvement as a lending officer in this community, the extent of projects 21st Century Bank has been involved in is vast,” Jon Dolphin, President, 21st Century Bank. He recently took a drive with his son, where they explored the city.

“We drove down Rogers Drive and Commerce Boulevard with all of the office-warehouse buildings in addition to Industrial Boulevard, County Road 81, Justen Circle Industrial area, Northdale Boulevard, the numerous thirty to one hundred lot residential subdivisions across the city, the Rogers High School Concession Stand building — it was a great trip down memory lane to take with my son,” said Jon.21st Century Bank Event Center located in Rogers MN

This gave Dolphin and his son a clear picture of how community banks play significant roles in consistently building small- and mid-sized communities and supporting local events. The naming rights to the building were available – and 21st Century Bank was called to address that need by helping Rogers-area residents ensure its vital community space saw success.

“The more I think about my drive down memory lane, the more symbolic that 21st Century Bank’s name on the Event Center building is — a symbol that when the community has needed a partner, we’ve consistently been there,” he said.

21st Century Bank Steps Up

Jon Dolphin was initially approached by his long-time friends Jack Hines and John Seifert about possible sponsorship opportunities for the event center. As he reflected on the bank’s history with the city, it was clear that 21st Century Bank’s name belonged on a building that represents the community of Rogers — a community that is very important to the history and future of 21st Century Bank.

21st is committed to giving back to this community – and offered a $100,000 donation for the event center, which was accepted in April of 2022 by the Rogers City Council. With several enhancements completed on the event center, the city hosted a recognition event on August 9, 2023, with which we were proud to be involved. Other sponsors and local officials, businesses and community members joined the event.

"This event was the culmination and celebration of a large amount of effort that community leaders put in. 21st Century Bank is proud to be a part of the Event Center, and more important than that, we look forward to playing a substantial role in the growth and betterment of the community for many years to come.”
