As assistant vice president of 21st Century Bank’s residential development and home building team, Casey DeWalt partners with home builders and developers to provide construction and residential development financing.
He helps builders throughout the greater Twin Cities area with the complete lending process, including approval, closing, funding loan originations, and construction draw management. Prior to joining 21st Century Bank, Casey was a business banking officer with Klein Bank’s specialized lending division, where he also focused on lending to home builders.
Since starting in the industry in 2001, Casey DeWalt has focused on one thing – listening to other peoples’ stories and helping them fulfill their dreams. “Understanding a customer’s story is so important,” said Casey, who grew up in Illinois and moved to Minnesota about 10 years ago. “I want to be supportive to what customers are trying to accomplish… and be there for them the best that I can.”
Following his graduation from Illinois State University in 2001, he began working in finance as a credit analyst. Drawn to customer service, he transitioned to become a personal banker and worked his way up through the ranks. In 2010, he graduated from Hamline University, receiving a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. With in-depth education and experience as a small business specialist, business banking officer, and sales/service manager, he’s a well-rounded asset on the 21st Century Bank team.
Casey has a track record of developing out-of-the-box financing options to help individuals and business owners achieve success – and he was drawn to work at 21st Century Bank so he could continue that standard of service. He credits his resourcefulness to the time he invests in listening and understanding their story and financial goals to help find innovative ways to make things work.
In his role at 21st Century Bank, Casey said he strives to continue building the reputation of serving as a customer-centric bank. “I work to ensure excellent service by being responsive, and getting back to people,” said Casey. “I may not know the answers to their questions, but I make it my mission to find those answers and get back to them.”
