Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Weldon, our new Chief Financial Officer, brings nearly a quarter century of banking experience at institutions across Minnesota to his new position at 21st Century Bank.
As a strategic leader for the future of the bank, much of Weldon’s work happens behind the scenes – but he keeps the customers’ best interests at the front of his mind with every new development. His implementation of the latest banking processes will create improvements for the Bank.
Weldon has worked in banking and finance since 1996. He started his career as an accountant at TCF Bank in Minneapolis and has since worked for CliftonLarsonAllen, United Prairie Bank and Crown Bank. As his career progressed, Weldon shifted from a client-facing role to bank leadership, and he has led efforts such as bank consolidation as well as internal management responsibilities like audit compliance, operations, human resources, training and accounting.
His father was a banker as well, so Weldon grew up knowing the benefits a community bank like 21st Century brings to the people it serves.
“One of the things I think that differentiates a community bank from the megabanks is that, if you step back, what we’re doing in our business is helping our communities grow. We grow jobs, grow businesses and help the overall economy, and I think the strategy they have here for growth is inspiring. I’m excited to see where that can go.”
Outside of his work for 21st Century Bank, Weldon also serves as treasurer for the Bank Holding Company Association. In his free time, he enjoys running and spending time with his wife and kids.
Weldon graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a bachelor of science degree in finance and also attended the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. He holds an active license as a certified public accountant.
