In the Community

Want to support a current donation drive?

Our communities give so much to us. It’s our duty to give back.

We love the line of work we’re in. As part of our careers at 21st Century Bank, we get to witness nonprofits and small businesses thrive and flourish. But importantly, our day-to-day includes volunteer efforts – donations of time, money, and essential goods – all designed to give back to our community in the most meaningful ways possible.

We wouldn’t be here without each of the communities we serve – Blaine, Ham Lake, Loretto, Minneapolis, Rogers, Eagan and Roseville – and it’s part of our entire team’s mission to ensure we are caring for those around us in a substantial, impactful way.

21st Century Bank regularly invests in the Community Reinvestment Act. Each year, we have a team that selects causes of importance to us—such as addressing homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence, or perhaps providing relief for displaced families. We are proud of the volunteer hours our team members contribute, along with their annual monetary support.

“As a bank, there should be an innate responsibility to support the communities we serve. It’s extremely important. Because if you are connected to the community and you’re loaning money to small businesses, you are creating jobs. And it makes our communities stronger.”

Our team’s dedication to giving back to the community through CRA Lending, Investments, Donations, and Service has led to our Satisfactory CRA rating. This is accomplished through our efforts in:

  • CRA Lending – We’ve continued to meet the financial needs of small businesses and remain one of the top MN SBA lenders. Our Community Development Loan portfolio includes loans to purchase, refinance, or renovate housing in low-moderate census tract neighborhoods. Additionally, a percentage of our small business loans fit in a low-moderate census tract.
  • CRA Community Development/Service – Our team members provided financial expertise or technical assistance to various community development-related organizations.  Each year, our team members provide our nonprofit volunteer hours of community service. Our SVP of Business Development and Nonprofit Banking plays a prominent role in the success of our community development service evaluation.
  • CRA Donations and Volunteering—In addition to monetary donations to local nonprofit organizations, our team members volunteer, working side-by-side, helping nonprofits serve our community members. Some of the nonprofits we supported this year included Hope4Youth, The Monticello Help Center, Every Meal, Youthprise, Hanover Food Shelf, CROSS, WomenVenture, Bolder Options, Neighbors Inc., Stepping Stone, and many others.

We will continue to build on our efforts year after year!
